Hall 2

The two large-scale works in this hall, albeit not strictly related to one another, are intended to show how Tiepolo’s productive and highly original creativity derives from the great sixteenth-century Venetian tradition, and especially Paolo Veronese. The hall also contains important preparatory drawings by Tiepolo and other eighteenth-century Venetian artists, including Guarana and Bortoloni, for important ceiling decorations in religious and patrician buildings in Venice.
