The Gallerie dell'Accademia are committed to further improving accessibility and usability and plan to make the entire premises fully and freely accessible to all.
The museum is accessible to mobility-impaired persons via the barrier-free entrance located at the right-hand side of the museum. The premises are equipped with lifts to access the first floor and lifting platforms between halls.
If you are a person with a motor disability, please talk to our staff, and we will be happy to suggest the best way to get around the exhibition halls and give a timely update of any lift platforms under repair.
The following museum halls are currently not accessible to persons with mobility difficulties:
- ground floor: Halls 12-13.
Halls XVIII-XXIII currently closed
The third phase of the project has begun on Monday, 10 October 2022 and will affect Halls XVIII to XXIII, therefore currently closed to the public.
The museum tour starts from Hall I on the first floor to the Loggia palladiana, after Hall XV you can get to the ground floor either through staircase or elevator and resume the tour from Hall 13.
