This room brings together all of the Canova models held by the museum. In the display case designed by Carlo Scarpa (1949) we have Canova’s early plasters for the Wrestlers, Apollo, and the preparatory terracotta model for the monumental group of the Pietà. On the wall there are two models for a commemorative monument to Titian that was never executed, though it had originally been planned for the basilica dei Frari as a tribute to the greatest Venetian artist of the past.
